D G D G D G / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / Hold A Few Tips to Help You /= one beat Use a picking style for this backing, its sounds pretty good with the parts I transcribed on my Web Page. Here's an example of one I use: Use your Thumb to strike the Bass note of the Chord on the first beat then your 1st,2nd and 3rd fingers to play the second beat. It's important on the second beat to make sure you strike all three strings at the same time and in an upward motion. Also don't let the notes ring out too long, once you've struck the Chord release the pressure on the fretboard to kill the sound. This will give a slightly choppy sound which is quite effective. Section 2 of the transcribed parts on my Web Page is a little tricky, but not impossible to play. A good tip is to bar your first finger over the first, second and third strings on the 12th fret and keep it there while playing the higher notes. Also use your fourth finger to play the two notes on the 15th fret. It might take a bit of practice to get this section, but I'm sure you'll manage. Good Luck. The G Chord would be played like this |---------------| |----------3----| |----------4----| |----------5----| |---------------| |---3-----------| The D Chord would be played like this |---------------| |----------7----| |----------7----| |----------7----| |---5-----------| |---------------| The Em Chord would be played like this |----------0----| |----------0----| |----------0----| |---------------| |---------------| |---0-----------| and the Bm7 would be played like this |----------2----| |----------3----| |----------2----| |---------------| |---2-----------| |---------------|
